Nisa Rascon, EIT – Engineer In Training
Nisa Rascon has four years of professional experience in civil engineering, and water and wastewater systems expertise in particular. She develops designs, prepares reports and studies, and creates plans for water distribution systems and wastewater collection and treatment systems. Her work includes waterlines, storage tanks, booster stations wells, and related components. She coordinates project elements with key stakeholders and affected parties, and also prepares local and state permits for project approvals. She is often involved with on-site construction support as well as off-site review of submittals and product data sheets. Nisa has developed strong skills and experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, InfoWater and other similar software applications. She has recently joined Woodson; the New Mexico projects included below are prior to her Woodson experience.
Homestead Road and Waterline Improvement, City of Williams – This project included waterline and water service replacements, fire hydrant replacements, pavement replacement, and storm water improvements. Nisa drafted the 60% and 100% construction plans, the technical specifications, final bid contract documents, and an Engineer’s Design Report for the waterline components. The project was funded by the City of Williams and through a CDBG Grant.
Pojoaque Basin Regional Water Systems, Santa Fe County, NM – Nisa served as a Project Engineer for the design and construction of a new water system serving several Pueblo communities in Santa Fe County, NM. The project included collector wells, a treatment plant, and an extensive network of transmission and distribution lines. Her responsibilities included the design of approximately 17 miles of water transmission line and 55 miles of distribution line.
WWTP Preliminary Engineering Report, Fort Sumner, NM – Nisa conducted an evaluation of the wastewater treatment plant in order to define facility improvements during the next planning period to assure compliance with the NPDES permit. The report included an assessment of the condition and capacity of the plant components as well as recommendations for improvements.
Hydraulic Model Verification and Analysis. Pueblo of Zuni, NM – Nisa developed an evaluation of the impacts to the existing water distribution system with the construction of Phase 2 which included a new transmission line, booster station, and storage tank. The existing hydraulic model was used to project these impacts with the key concerns for the client being the expansion of their system and additional storage without any anticipated demand in the near future and the subsequent impact to water age in the water distribution system.
Frost Rd 16-Inch Transmission Line, Sandia Park, NM – Nisa designed 5,700 LF of 16” C905 PVC DR18 transmission line including all relevant appurtenances along Frost Rd between Mountain Valley Rd and Reubens Rd near Sandia Park, NM.
