The Woodson team provided civil engineering and land surveying services for this development consisting of 33,000 SF of retail, a public plaza at the first floor, four stories of 222 residential units and a five story parking garage. We designed the sewer and water utilities, Low Impact Development (LID) features and the stormwater conveyances within this partially developed site. We were also part of the construction team and provided construction staking, post-design engineering, construction administration and closeout certifications.
We completed a final drainage report in which storm water from the proposed development would connect with existing underground detention basins, without adversely affecting the downstream drainage patterns. Unique aspects to the project included connecting a landlocked courtyard to the system, as well as creating bio-retention cells to filter runoff and allow it to infiltrate.
