This City of Flagstaff project was located in a 10-block area around Beaver and San Francisco Streets south of the BNSF tracks. It included intersection bump-outs, pedestrian sidewalks, furniture and lighting improvements, streetscape improvements, street milling and overlay, street reconstruction and paving with drainage and utility improvements. The physical condition of the local infrastructure resulted in the scope being increased to a full paving and street reconstruction project. On-street parking was a key element in this project and after inventory of spaces, communication with residents and business owners was key to success. This was a complex project that required meeting with many City departments, very active citizens and property owners and negotiating their needs.
