Civil CAD Technician/Designer
Woodson Engineering and Surveying is actively recruiting a CAD Technician/Designer to join our team in our Flagstaff office. This position will work as a member of our design team that prepares plans, specifications and estimates for a wide variety of Civil Engineering projects that include the following elements: geometric design, horizontal and vertical alignment, intersection layout and sight distance determination, interchange layout, roadway drainage, and right of way plans. The successful candidate will work with the team to produce roadway sections, erosion control plans, site preparation plans, roadway profiles, drainage plans and profiles, utility plans, paving, pavement marking plans, signing plans.
Required Skills & Required Experience:
The EIT will be responsible for providing technical support in the development and design stages of projects. The purpose of this position is to provide professional, technical day-to-day support and input. The EIT is expected to become proficient in the use of the computer for design and CAD applications. EIT’s will prepare the drawings of designs they have originated or from sketches provided by others. They are encouraged to solve engineering problems using experience, judgment and education but are expected to ask for assistance when needed. It is essential that an EIT maintain a neat and organized work area, which allows efficient access to project information required by other staff members.
A Bachelors of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited university, and professional registration as an Engineer-in-Training is required. Completion of the Professional Engineering exam is encouraged. The EIT should continue the learning process by attending in-house seminars as well as continuing education opportunities outside of the office.
